Systems Engineer — Frigate Life Extension (P6096)

About the assignment

Forsvarsmateriell (Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency) is seeking up to five systems engineering consultants to support project P6096 Frigate Life Extension for the Nansen-class frigates. The work covers design, engineering, implementation and documentation of modifications, in close cooperation with the project's disciplines, the supplier market and subcontractors, including shipyards. The consultants will replace five existing consultants whose contracts are expiring. The assignment requires security clearance at Hemmelig/NATO Secret level and presence at Haakonsvern.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, engineering and implementation of modifications for the Nansen-class frigates
• Document modifications on behalf of the project
• Work closely with the other disciplines in the project
• Liaise with the supplier market and subcontractors, including shipyards
• Carry out tasks that vary according to the project phase and the nature of the modification

Required skills

• Education to at least bachelor's level in a relevant field (extensive experience may compensate)
• More than 6 years' relevant work experience in systems engineering
• At least 2 years' technical experience in maintenance and modification of operational systems
• At least 2 years' project experience, preferably related to Nansen-class frigates and weapon systems
• Relevant weapon systems expertise related to systems engineering for the Nansen-class frigate
• Relevant experience in systems engineering for the Nansen-class frigate
• Relevant experience from project work related to naval vessels
• Relevant experience with project management methodology and tools as well as ERP systems, preferably from Forsvaret (Norwegian Armed Forces)

Qualifications

• Approved authorisation/security clearance at Hemmelig(H)/NATO Secret(NS) level
• Signing of a non-disclosure agreement
