About the assignment
Brønnøysundregistrene (Brønnøysund Register Centre) is planning to establish a voluntary sustainability reporting service that will enable SMEs to submit reports under the EU VS standard in a structured, machine-readable format. The consultant will work as a full-stack developer with a focus on the backend, with key responsibilities in receiving and validating XBRL reports based on EFRAG's VS-XBRL taxonomy and transforming them into other structured data formats. The consultant will join a cross-functional development team establishing a sustainability hub, working closely with specialist teams for sustainability reporting, data management and the Register Platform. The work follows agile principles (Kanban/ScrumBan), with an emphasis on early delivery, user testing and code quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop functionality for receiving reports in XBRL format based on EFRAG's VS-XBRL taxonomy
- Implement automatic validation against the taxonomy and business rules, with clear feedback to the submitter
- Develop transformation of XBRL reports into other types of structured data
- Contribute to data sharing at detailed and aggregated levels for analysis and benchmarking
- Contribute to the development of user interfaces for submitting, validating and displaying report data
- Work closely with the specialist teams for sustainability reporting and data management at BR
- Work with staff connected to the Register Platform on integrating the reporting and validation solution
- Assist with other initiatives, projects or tasks at Brønnøysundregistrene as required
Required skills
- Minimum 5 years of relevant ICT education from a university college or university
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a systems developer with a focus on the backend
- Experience of development in Java
- Experience of developing and using APIs (REST) and systems integration
- Experience of XBRL and/or iXBRL, including validation, processing and use of taxonomies
- Experience of microservices architecture
- Knowledge of sustainability reporting (VSME/VS, ESRS) or financial reporting (ESEF)
