IndustriConsult AS have signed an agreement of cooperation with Centerpoint AS. IndustriConsult will provide the Structural Discipline Lead Engineer to Det norske’s Ivar Aasen project.
The Ivar Aasen field is Det norske’s first major development project as operator. The first oil is expected produced in the fourth quarter of 2016. Det norske holds a 35 percent interest in the field, and partners are Statoil (50 percent) and Bayerngas Norge (15 percent).The Ivar Aasen field is situated west of the Johan Sverdrup field in the North Sea, and contains approximately 150 million barrels of oil equivalents. Total investments in the project are estimated at NOK 24.7 billion.
Karl Erik Kolstad of IndustriConsult is hired as Structural Disciplin Lead Engineer. He will the next 12 months work in Det norskes project organization set for implementing the project according to plan, schedule and costs.
Kolstad is a partner in IndustriConsult and a specialist on FEM analysis. He holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from NTNU in Norway. He was recently engaged as Specialist Engineer at Aibel Norway. Kolstad has a total of 29 years experience in the use of the finite element method in a wide range of applications including traditional strength calculations, advanced thermal simulations and thermo-mechanical analysis as well as being Lead Engineer of large Global analysis of fixed and floating offshore support structures. He is a specialist of design analysis and thermal simulations using the finite element method, design and global and hydrodynamic analysis of fixed and floating offshore structures in steel and concrete. He has experience from managing and participation in a long range of global analysis of fixed and floating structures from e.g. Aker Norwegian Contractors, Det Norske Veritas, Aibel, Nemo Engineering and Aker Solutions.
